When to discuss a flatbed
All-wheel-drive systems, low ground clearance, specialty bodywork, wheel or suspension damage, and a non-rolling vehicle are reasons to discuss flatbed transport. They are not guarantees that a particular flatbed can load the car at a particular location.
Loading conditions
The operator needs sufficient approach length and safe clearance. A low garage ceiling, steep ramp, tight turn, locked wheel, or damaged tire can require a different plan. Share these details before dispatch, not when the truck arrives.
Protecting the handoff
Confirm the destination address and who will receive the vehicle. Remove valuables when it is safe to do so, follow the operator’s loading instructions, and do not stand near winching equipment or moving traffic.
Have these details ready
- Drivetrain and ground clearance
- Wheel, steering, and suspension condition
- Garage or ramp dimensions if known
- Destination and receiving contact
